Poster Contest

The Sautee Nacoochee Community Association (SNCA) announces a Call For Artists in conjunction with the 3rd Annual 12 Rivers Art Festival to be held June 9, 2012 on the campus of the Center. The Festival Committee of this juried, outdoor festival of fine art and fine crafts is looking for an artist’s work that represents the natural beauty, creativity and spirit of our region to be reproduced in poster form. There are no medium restrictions other than allowing the piece to be photographically rendered. Submissions must be original and not previously used for marketing purposes. There is no requirement that submitted works depict rivers or water unless so desired.

The selected artist will have their original work displayed in the SNCA art gallery before and during the Festival, and will receive the first commemorative poster framed. The poster contest winner will also be able to have a booth in the Festival at no charge if he/she so desires. Submissions for the 3rd Annual 12 Rivers Art Festival official poster should be delivered to the Sautee Nacoochee Center, 283 Highway 255 North, Sautee Nacoochee no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 17th.

Gail Watson at CELEBRATING GEORGIA WOMEN ARTISTS

One of Gail Watson’s paintings is been shown at CELEBRATING GEORGIA WOMEN ARTISTS. Eighty works, juried from 243 entries, all contemporary artworks are on view at the Mable House Arts Center at Historic Mable House, 5239 Floyd Road, Mableton, GA 30126.

The exhibit will be on display from January 19th through March 1st and the hours are Monday ­ Thursday from 10:00 until 5:00. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 7-9 p.m. The event is sponsored by the National League of American Pen Women, the Atlanta Branch.
