For the second year, NGAG has been awarded a Grassroots Grant Invitational Grant to fund the Art for Youth program. Janie Owens is leading the program and has set up two workshops for the Rabun Youth. Joleen Oh and Cleve Phillips will teach kudzu weaving; Jean Stewart and Susan Belew will teach hand-built pottery.
The kids will display their completed artwork in the Rabun Youth Booth at the Celebrate Clayton Festival April 30 – May 1. NGAG will host a reception for the young artists to show their work in the Rock House in Clayton on June 11th during the Northeast Georgia Arts Tour.
This program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) through appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA also receives support from its partner agency, the National Endowment for the Arts.
