The Georgia Mountain Food Bank, headquartered in Flowery Branch Georgia, will hold it’s 4th Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser on September 16, 2010. The event is the food bank’s largest fundraiser and is part of Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month activities during the month of September.

We are looking for artists who are interested in participating by donating bowls for the lunch or other art pieces for the silent auction. Bowls have been donated in the past by Brenau University, North Georgia College, Gainesville High School, and individual artists.

The empty bowl concept is simple. Guests purchase a ticket and are served a simple meal and take home a hand-made bowl as a reminder of empty bowls in our community.

The Georgia Mountain Food Bank is an affiliate of the Atlanta Community Food Bank serves as a central clearinghouse for the collection of donated food to be distributed to charitable organizations that feed those in need.
