Robie Fisch

(1935 – 2020)

In 1994 Robie and her husband,  Bill, retired to their quiet Lake Burton cabin in the North Georgia mountains, leaving behind the hectic Atlanta city life for good. Within a just a few years Robie joined the North Georgia Arts Guild; she became an active member, contributing her time, talent and joyful spirit for many years.

Always an avid “crafter,” a friend suggested she try “watercolor” painting, opening a new world to her. She found excitement seeing the colors mix and mingle, forming “surprises” on the paper. Time spent in her studio was both an adventure and a challenge. The changing seasons, the peace and beauty of the lake and mountains surrounding her provided constant inspiration and subject matter. Robie's whimsical nature can be seen in her Red Fish Fantasy series and funky fish note cards.

Robie studied with two painters, Dianne Mize and Robin Miltner who were a major influence throughout her artistic journey
