Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I was always fascinated with the variety and beauty of the photos featured in National Geographic magazine - nature, animals, landscapes, or scenes that represented moments in time, from all over the world. I was interested in the subject/composition of the photographs, and the message they communicated. The photos sometimes seemed to tell me more than the written text that accompanied them. I gained photography skills initially while enrolled in a commercial design course in high school, but only recently has it become a serious hobby. I have many nature/landscape photos in my collection, but I especially enjoy capturing those candid, "off guard" occasions that relate the genuine mood of a situation happening before me.
